Hootoksi's 73'rd birthday

Taiping is a lovely old town about three and a half hours by train from Kuala Lumpur. Taiping's lake garden with its marvelous rain trees is renowned, and that's where Hootoksi wanted to celebrate her birthday.
The timing was perfect! Our neice Clara was here for her son Qais's engagement to Yasyika, a Malaysian! Our dear friends Waheed and Ilham ever ready for adventure joined us and before we knew it we were on the northbound ETS express train to Taiping. Soon we were comfortably established in a hotel across the road from the Taiping Lake Gardens, with a commanding view of the lake, the lawns and the forested hills beyond.
Unfortunately, Yasyica had to return to KL the very next day, Hootoksi's birthday, so she was sorely missed during the celebration that followed at sunset on the hotel's terrace. Waheed had brought a bottle of shampagne so the evening progressed merrily...
